We note to our dismay, sorrow and bewilderment, that 24 and 31 December, as the perversity of fate would have it, are both Eves, and both fall on a Monday. At the Open Stage, we pride ourselves that we keep our “no-show” days to an absolute minimum – once per year is our aim. However faced with the inevitable, we bow to circumstance, and must regretfully announce that there will be no Open Stage at WHISPERS on those two dates.
The Spirit of Rasputin’s Open Stage runs Monday nights at Whispers Pub, 249 Richmond Rd. (between Kirkwood Ave. and Churchill Ave.). The music gets started around 7:00 pm, but you may want to get there early to sign up to perform. Each performer typically plays two songs, and using this format, we can fit in about 12 performers each evening. There is no cover charge.
The Rasputin’s open stage has a history that goes back 27 years. It is presented in a distinctive “listening environment” where we give each song and each performer the attention they deserve. The performers and audience love it. Come out and listen in, or perform a song or two yourself.
